Cloud Structures with MERIS Data

This image of a "Karman Vortex" Structure (KVS) is one of the many studies of cloud structures produced using the large archive of optical MERIS data processed daily since 2002 by Brockmann Consult.
The data is analysed and classified into different cloud structure types. Beyond the visual aspect of the cloud structure itself, the Cloud Structure Project provides, as available, data on cloud top height, cloud albedo, cloud optical thickness, cloud type, and statistical data, i.e. global occurrence, observation diagrams.
