Envisat Calibration Review

9-13 September 2002
ESTEC, Noordwijk, The Netherlands

The European Space Agency (ESA) organised a meeting at ESTEC to review the results of the calibration of its environmental satellite Envisat. The subjects of the review were:

  • In-flight calibration of the instruments
  • Verification of level 1b data processing (engineering parameters)
  • Verification of consistency of level 2 data processing (geophysical parameters)
  • Preliminary assessment of geophysical data quality of the level 2 data products
At the Envisat Calibration Review (ECR) the results of the instrument calibration activities were presented to representatives of ESA's Member States, to Envisat project participants and to the Envisat user community. The meeting started with a plenary introductory session, followed by instrument specific parallel sessions. At the end, conclusions and recommendations were formulated at a plenary session.

The Proceedings of the Envisat Calibration Review were published in November 2002 as Special Publication SP-520, and have been made available online here.

The presentations made at the workshop help during the Envisat Calibration Review were published in November 2002 as Special Publication SP-520, and have also been made available online here.
